Diablo 4 Gem Upgrades List Gems Crafting What Level

Diablo 4 Gem Upgrades List: When Can You Find and Craft All Gems?

Here’s a handy Diablo 4 gem upgrades list to make it easy for you to know when you can start finding and crafting all of the gems in the game. Upon reaching Level 20, you’ll receive a priority quest in Kyovashad that will unlock the jeweler for gem crafting. At that point, you’ll also find drops for all seven gems: skull, amethyst, diamond, emerald, ruby, topaz, and sapphire. At certain levels, you’ll unlock higher-quality gems from crude, shipped, regular, flawless, and royal. Here’s a list of what level you need to be before you can unlock these gem upgrades in Diablo 4.

When do Diablo 4 gem upgrades unlock?

Here is a quick list of the minimum level your character needs to be before you can find certain gems as drops and craft higher-quality gems:

  • Crude – Level 15
  • Chipped – Level 20
  • Regular – Level 40
  • Flawless – Level 60
  • Royal – Level 70

You’ll need 3 gems of a specific quality to create 1 gem of the next quality tier (e.g. 3 chipped rubies to make 1 regular ruby) at the jeweler.

We must also note that a recent datamine of Diablo 4’s World Tier 5 difficulty has details of further gem upgrades. This includes an unnamed Rank 6 gem tier, a Rank 7 tier called “Magnificent”, and a Rank 8 tier called “Perfect”. These are still placeholder names, so it’s not clear whether these will be the exact words Blizzard will use for these very high-quality gems.

That said, if these new gem ranks goes through, we would assume that the Rank 6 gem will unlock at Level 80, the Rank 7 gem will unlock at Level 90, and the Rank 8 gem will only be available at Level 100. That’s if we’re following the pattern so far with Flawless and Royal gems.

However, we don’t think that these new gem upgrades will be live until Blizzard releases the first expansion for Diablo 4. So we believe you’ve got plenty of time to farm Royal gems in preparation for them.
