If you fancy a light snack while you play your brand-new copy of Starfield, you may be in luck. Turns out Best Buy is doing a special pre-order bonus that grants those who purchase the upcoming Bethesda game a free ice cream sandwich.
Space ice cream, no less
As noted by the Twitter account Cheap Ass Gamer, the retail giant has decided to offer a tasty treat to those who pre-order Starfield before the release date. More specifically, it appears to be the HALO – Astronaut brand of ice cream sandwich. Neapolitan flavor as well, if you were wondering.
However, when browsing the Starfield page on the Best Buy website, it doesn’t appear to say anything about this pre-order bonus.
Whether the company is just not singing and dancing about the deal cannot be said at this stage, but the story has been corroborated on other news outlets, including GameSpot.
It sounds like a pretty sweet bonus for those who like ice cream and space-faring RPGs. However, as some have noted, the brand of ice cream sandwich that’s being offered is said to be valued at $10, whereas some retailers are selling the item for $5.
There are already a number of pre-order bonuses for Starfield, including the $300 Constellation Edition, which comes with a skin pack, steelbook display case, access to the expansion when that gets released, as well as a Chronomark watch and case.
As bonus items go, an ice cream sandwich is not the weirdest, but it’s getting a few people talking. Although, it’s not as if Starfield needs hyping up anymore.
