Remnant 2 Patch Notes July 25

Remnant 2 Patch Notes Update for Today, July 25

The Remnant 2 patch notes for the game’s day one update today on July 25 are rather short and sweet. Developer Gunfire Games released a hotfix on PC the day before and is pushing more or less the same update today for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In general, the hotfix will fix several bugs related to progress, get rid of some of the annoying voiceovers, and improve the menu interface. This will be all editions of the game on console. Here are the Remnant 2 patch notes for July 25 in full below.

The following is the official Remnant 2 patch notes for PS5 on July 25 for build 01.000.005:

General

  • Toned down the player VO comments.
  • Added option in menu to turn motion blur on/off.

Fixes

  • Progression Blocker Fix for Labyrinth cinematic crashing and key not being awarded.
  • Progression Blocker Fix for exiting out of first lab cinematic and not receiving the zone door keys.
  • Progression Blocker Fix for Water Harp lever no longer working
  • Progression Blocker Fix where Nightweaver Web would consume items you need for quest puzzles. If an item was consumed it should now be back in your inventory.
  • Added fix for Ultimate Edition players not receiving Gunslinger Engram in game if they didn’t start with Gunslinger.
  • Added fix for player possibly becoming invisible when using Labyrinth portal.
  • Added fix to prevent host’s save getting changed if they quit out the game while dead and then joined someone else’s game.

As noted in a post on Twitter by Gunfire Games, the majority of these fixes were requested by Early Access players. The patch was also submitted to Xbox Series X|S, so Xbox will need to accept and deploy the update. The developer hopes that it will be “releasing there soon.”

As for PC, the same hotfix was posted yesterday on July 24. The only real difference is that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the patch have the option to turn motion blur on and off. No day one patch on PC looks to be in the works.

This is a bit of disappointment considering that there are a few lingering PC performance issues with the game. This includes issues with DirectX 12 as well as some VRAM issues for those using a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. But the developer has acknowledged these problems and is diligently working on releasing performance patches in the future.
