This Remnant 2 class tier list will consider the overall power and utility of each archetype to determine which ones are the best. After finishing the tutorial, players can choose among the Medic, Gunslinger, Handler, Challenger, and Hunter to start with. Later on, you can unlock dual archetypes, namely Explorer, Invader, Summoner, Alchemist, and Engineer. There’s also the mysterious Archon class which has been datamined, though no one has been able to figure out how to unlock it quite yet. At any rate, this tier list will focus on the archetypes that are available now, and we’ll update it later if the Archon becomes unlocked at a later date.
Remnant 2 class tier list, ranked
The following is a quick breakdown of the Remnant 2 class tier list from S-rank to C-rank:
- S-Tier
- Handler, Medic
- A-Tier
- Gunslinger, Summoner, Engineer, Invader
- B-Tier
- Alchemist, Hunter, Challenger
- C-Tier
- Explorer
If you’re heading into the game trying to play it solo as much as possible, the Handler is at the top of the pile. The archetype’s dog companion can revive you on the spot using the Bonded Prime perk. The dog can even revive your teammates if they go down as well, which is fantastic in a challenging Soulslike game like this. The furry friend can also howl to give a nice damage buff to everyone in the party.
Then for co-op play, it’s hard not to consider the Medic as this class can heal teammates and revive them. This archetype easily comes in clutch during boss fights, so an effective party will typically need at least one Medic in the group for optimal play.
For general DPS, you have a lot of choices. The Engineer’s High Tech perk improved damage and rate of fire for a weapon for 15 seconds. The Gunslinger’s Loaded perk grants infinite ammo and nullifies reload time. The Hunter also isn’t a bad choice if you like dealing damage at range while being invisible.
Unfortunately, the Explorer just isn’t great apart from being able to move quickly and finding rare items. It’s usually better to choose any of the other classes to get through a dungeon quickly and then do it again if you’re looking for items.
