Twisted Metal Delayed Into 2012

This clown is not at all happy about this news.

Twisted Metal for the PlayStation 3 has been a long time coming. And sadly, it's going to be even longer. Series creator David Jaffe has announced today that Twisted Metal will miss its October 4th release date and will instead ship in early 2012.

Jaffe says the extra time for tuning and polish will make the game "so much better than it already is". I guess we're okay with that then. Damn you, Jaffe, you tricked us into not being mad about this delay!

This is actually normal for this time of the year. It's when developers and publisher strategize their upcoming releases. Maybe Twisted Metal wasn't going to sell as well this holiday season with how stiff the competition is. Or maybe it really did need some extra time in the developer deep fryer.

One thing is for sure: David Jaffe knows great games. So if he says that Twisted Metal will benefit from some extra time, I believe him, and you should too. Still don't agree? Then read this quote that Jaffe ended the sad news with:

‘A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad until the end of time.’ ~ David Jaffe

That's twisted deep.
