Monopoly Go Roll Match Event Explained Boost

Monopoly Go Roll Match Event Explained

The Monopoly Go Roll Match is a new flash event that gives players to opportunity to gain extra dice. We first saw this being rolled out in late May 2024 to June 2024. Now that Scopely is seemingly done testing the Roll Match event out, this new boost is looking like it will be added to the daily schedule. Looking at the schedule so far, it doesn’t look like a common event that appears every day, like Mega Heist and Cash Grab, but it will appear about once a week, relatively more than Sticker Boom. We’ll have to see how popular Roll Match is with players and the developer to see if it will become a regular boost alongside Builders Bash. Here’s an explanation of how the Roll Match event works and whether it’s worth using.

How does Monopoly Go Roll Match work?

During a Monopoly Go Roll Match event, you need to roll the number indicated in the box to earn dice. So if the box shows, say, a six, then you need to roll a six to claim the dice. Once that happens, the number you need to roll will change.

The amount of dice you receive will partly depend on your current dice multiplier, so you have a chance of winning big if you have a x100 multiplier or a x1000 multiplier from High Roller. How often you will claim the Roll Match prize will depend on luck, with the odds being in your favor if the number you need to roll stays between 5 and 9. Getting a 2 or 12 in the box is quite unlucky and will take generally longer to complete, though in these instances, you may want to roll with a x1 multiplier enough times just to clear it out with minimal dice spending.

The Roll Match boost only lasts for a limited time, usually for around 10 minutes. What’s important to note here is how much dice you will get back at base value when you roll with a x1 multiplier. From we’ve seen so far, players have received 3 dice back on a x1 multiplier if they happen to match the number, but this rate of return may be subject to change.

Is the Monopoly Go Roll Match boost worth using?

The Roll Match boost is worth using only if you intend to roll dice anyway, particularly while earning event points for tournaments, banners, and major mini-games.

The main way to look at Roll Match is like a rebate program. Trying to land on the number indicated in general will waste a lot of dice just in terms of the odds. But if you’re going to roll anyway during partner events, Peg-E Prize Drop, and digging treasure hunts, having the Roll Match active can only help. Completing the list of milestones for a banner can sometimes lead to you spending more dice than you get back, like a banner that requires you to land on pickup tokens around the board. So rolling while Roll Match is live can give you a small refund.

At the moment, we are still trying to figure out what the rate of return is for Roll Match and if it’s random. If you only get 3 dice back at base, then it’s not particularly great compared to the x2 Free Parking Dice event. But if the base rate is around 5 or 6 dice back, then it’s well worth waiting. If this rate is randomized, though, we won’t know what this rate is until Roll Match happens.

We recommend pairing Roll Match with the High Roller boost. You likely won’t see these two boosts appear during the same time in the daily schedule, but there are some instances when you can earn the HR boost as part of the rewards.
