What’s new in Elden Ring update 1.12?
Many will be waking up to see their copy of Elden Ring updating to version 1.12. The developer has outlined a ton of changes to the main game, which includes tweaks to skills and armaments, as well as to general gameplay balance.
The update also implements new Summoning Pool features, five new hairstyles, and a “Map Functions Menu.”
There’s also a host of bug fixes, including one that addresses the “time it takes for some gestures to become cancelable by rolling.” You can read the full patch notes for Elden Ring v.1.12 here.
However, what most will be interested in is the release of the DLC expansion. This is something a lot of fans have been looking forward to since it was announced last year. The content tells a brand-new story set in the Land of Shadow, and boasts “mystery, perilous dungeons, and new enemies, weapons and equipment.”
The DLC will be released today. The Elden Ring update itself does not come with the expansion, so you will need to purchase it separately from the main game.
Additionally, those who are looking to play on their Steam Deck, an additional post on X has recently identified an issue. The official account has said a “hotfix is being worked on” at the moment, and is advising players to leave their Deck “inactive for more than 5 minutes” to stop it from accepting inputs.
