Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters | Allies and enemies revealed

Star Wars is an iconic series for many reasons, but one of the most important is that it has always had a great cast of characters. The Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order characters will look to follow suit, as developer Respawn Entertainment has lifted the curtain on what friends and foes the young Jedi Cal will encounter during his tale. From cute droids to fearsome looking enemies, this looks to be one of the most exciting Star Wars games ever produced.

As previously mentioned, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will revolve around a Jedi named Cal (played by Cameron Monaghan), that has to hide his true nature due to Jedis being labeled as traitors due to Order 66. He works as part of a scrapper guild that dismembers starships until he eventually becomes a target of the Imperial’s Inquisitors, who are tasked with exterminating all people sensitive to the Force. This turns his life upside-down, and then goes on a journey of self-discovery as he has to learn to trust allies and use the Force as he attempts to survive.

There was a lot to digest in the debut trailer, so check out what we currently know about the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order characters below.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters | Cere

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters cal and cere

A Jedi is nothing without a proper mentor and Cere will serve that role in Star Wars Jedii Fallen Order, although it won’t be in the typical manner. Respawn told fans not to expect the typical Padawan and Jedi Master relationship that has been explored before. Instead, the character is a former Jedi Knight that is part of a “strange family” that’s formed during the game’s events. Despite being a dysfunctional group, they all have a common goal in mind as they join together in order to explore the galaxy and change it for the better. Cal eventually joins up with them and learns plenty from the veteran Jedi Knight.

Cere will be played by the experienced actress Debra Wilson. She’s best known for her work on MADtv, which she starred on for 193 episodes and often lampooned celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Whitney Houston. She eventually moved over to doing voice actor roles and has appeared in several major games. Notably, she played Grace Walker in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Crying Wolf in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Rebecca in Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, and was The Storyteller in Infamous 2‘s Festival of Blood expansion.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters | BD-1

Beyond humans and aliens, there are plenty of memorable Star Wars characters that are droids. Joining the likes of C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 is the adorable BD-1. Unofficially called “Buddy Droid 1” by the development team, this robot is Cal’s best friend and ally. He’ll serve as a major focus in the story and has been described as being an equal in the story rather than being a sidekick character. His various skills will be key to gameplay, as he has a spotlight and other tools that can be upgraded over the course of the experience.

BD-1 will be voiced by someone Star Wars fans are quite familiar with as the legendary Ben Burtt will provide his sound effects. The veteran sound designer is well-known for his work on various films, such as Invasion of the Body SnatchersIndiana JonesE.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and WALL-E. However, he’s most beloved for creating many of Star Wars‘ iconic sound effects such as the lightsaber’s hum and the blaster gun. He previously voiced R2-D2 and was the titular character in Pixar’s WALL-E. He’s won four Academy Awards during his illustrious career and was nominated for six others.

Respawn Entertainment stressed how much care went into the droid’s design and said that he went through many designs. Previous ones had him look like household appliances such as a robotic vacuum cleaner. One design was even more dog-like in nature.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters | Second Sister

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters second sister

The main villain appears to be the Second Sister, who serves as a member of The Inquisitorius, a group of Force-wielding soldiers that hunt down any Jedi that survived Order 66. Second Sister has actually appeared in the Star Wars universe before, as she can be seen in the background of issue 19 in the comic series Darth Vader. In the debut trailer, she’s shown to be an incredibly clever antagonist as she uses the Force to control the flight stick of Cal’s ship in order to derail their escape.

Second Sister will be after Cal throughout the game and will hunt him down alongside Purge Troopers and other Imperial forces. She’ll serve as a regular obstacle that the young Jedi will have to overcome in order to survive.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters | Purge Troopers

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Characters purge troopers

These troopers were specifically created by Respawn Entertainment for the game, as they needed an enemy type that could take more hits than the traditional Storm Troopers (who are felled by one hit of a lightsaber). These specially trained commando units are air-dropped into areas where a Jedi has been spotted and are used as first responders. Their goal is to gain any information that they can on their foe and then soften up the character before an Inquisitor can arrive and subdue them.

These characters also appeared in the Darth Vader comic book series prior to the game being unveiled. They’re said to favor melee attacks and will require Cal to use tactical combat methods in order to defeat them as Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will not be a button masher.

While that’s all we know about the supporting Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order characters for now, that’s plenty to get excited about. Respawn Entertainment has collaborated with some incredible actors that will help bring their Star Wars story to life in captivating ways. Considering the great art design, it appears that we’ll be introduced to even more iconic characters from the sci-fi universe when the action game releases Nov. 15, 2019 for PS, Xbox One, and PC.
