What Are You Playing? August 7, 2019

There are no major new video game releases this week, meaning that we’ve been diving into our backlogs at GameRevolution, playing some classic titles and some multiplayer favorites over the past few days. Jason has booted up his PlayStation in order to try out an old-school forgotten horror game, Mack’s been sharpening his battle royale skills, while Michael has picked up his Vita again. Yes, the Vita.

So what have you been playing? Let us know in the comments section below, and we’ll feature our favorite response!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “I’ve been playing Rocket League. I’m a big fan of the customization options you can unlock as part of its Radical Summer event, so I’ve been busy turning my cars into sickly neon pink atrocities. Not much has changed since I last played it back in 2017, but how could Psyonix possibly improve the perfect formula that is car soccer?”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I’m playing Echo Night 2: The Lord of Nightmares. It’s a horror game for PlayStation 1 that has you solving puzzles in a mansion. It’s got more of a walking simulator vibe than its contemporaries and for a horror game it’s pretty chill.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “I’m back to playing Apex Legends in anticipation of the Solos event. The addition of daily challenges has me booting the game up each day. While it’s a shame that these features weren’t there for launch, they are better late than never.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “I was on vacation so I honestly played a lot of my Vita. Yes, my Vita. In 2019. Previewing Concrete Genie piqued my curiosity about Entwined, a game I don’t want to think about ever again. Lone Survivor had neat ideas but wasn’t quite as cohesive as it should have been. Tearaway, on the other hand, has been a delight and I’m mad I let it sit for so long. But now that I am home, I’m going to jump back into MK11 and CTR because I’m still hooked on both.”
