Best October 2019 Games | Hottest releases on PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch

Borderlands 3, Code Vein , and Gears 5 may finally be out, but 2019 still has a ton of games in store. New entries in the popular Ghost Recon and Call of Duty franchises are set to debut alongside two promising new IPs and the return of a few familiar Nintendo and Sony mascots. The following are all the best October 2019 games that PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC users should keep on their radars.

October 2019 Games | Ghost Recon Breakpoint

How to get the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Sentinel Corp Pack, October 2019 games

The sequel to 2017’s massively popular Ghost Recon WildlandsGhost Recon Breakpoint, releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 4. Like its predecessor, the game will feature an open world filled with a variety of landscapes that players can take advantage of. Fans will be able to rub mud on their faces to camouflage themselves or slide down rocky cliff sides to escape incoming fire. That’s not to say that Breakpoint won’t offer anything new, as the game will place a lot of emphasis on survival and will force players to maintain their health, hunger, hydration, and equipment as they attempt to take down a group of rouge Ghost Recon operatives called the Wolves. If Ubisoft has learned from Wildlands‘ mistakes — and it sounds like it might have — Breakpoint should be one of this year’s biggest hits.

October 2019 Games | Concrete Genie

October 2019 games

Concrete Genie‘s premise is simple but sweet. After a young boy named Ash has his doodle notebook stolen by a group of bullies, he discovers a magical brush that allows him to bring his illustrations to life. Together with the help of his new friends, Ash decides to recover his notebook and give his hometown a fresh coat of paint. As one might expect, drawing creatures will be a huge component of the game. The colors that players decide to give their characters will determine their attributes and aid them in solving obstacles. Red, for instance, can give certain creatures the ability to burn down barricaded doors with fire. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR fans who haven’t played a puzzle-platformer in a while might want to keep Concrete Genie on their radar as it is quite promising. The game releases on October 9.

October 2019 Games | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer premiere schedule, October 2019 games

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will serve as a reboot of the popular Modern Warfare sub-series when it releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25. The game’s campaign will constantly evaluate players on how well they are able to determine threats in the environment. Murdering innocent civilians will result in a low score and poor rewards at the end of a stage. The title’s multiplayer component has also supposedly been overhauled in order to place more emphasis on strategy and map exploration. To top it all off, killstreaks will return alongside the cooperative Spec Ops mode featured in previous Modern Warfare games. This year’s Call of Duty may represent a much-needed return to form for the franchise. Lapsed fans should keep their eyes on this one as campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff said it was one of the best game he’s ever made“““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““. October 2019 Games | MediEvil

medievil remake release date, October 2019 games

Sir Daniel Fortesque is set to make his triumphant return when MediEvil releases for PlayStation 4 on October 25. Though the remake will preserve the Nightmare Before Christmas aesthetic and hack and slash gameplay that gives the original 1998 title its character, it’ll attempt to revitalize the franchise through improved graphics, a new narrator, and a reworked camera system. We may not know much about MediEvil now, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be the perfect PlayStation game to play this Halloween.

October 2019 Games | The Outer Worlds

Outer Worlds publisher Private Division have more in development, October 2019 games

The developer behind such celebrated RPGs as Fallout: New Vegas and South Park: The Stick of Truth is set to debut it newest title, The Outer Worlds, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25. Taking place in an alternate reality where U.S. President William McKinley was not assassinated, corporations own planets in the far reaches of outer space. Players must determine if money is all these companies are really after, unraveling conspiracies and exposing corrupt executives for their unscrupulous policies. As with most other Obsidian games, fans will be able to outfit their companions and weapons with a variety of skills depending on their preferred playstyle. The Outer Worlds will even allow players to experience its campaign as the galaxy’s biggest idiot, as nearly every dialogue tree will include a moronic response. The game could evolve the genre in ways that RPG fans might not expect and even if it is “dated” in some aspects, some people probably want that.

October 2019 Games | Luigi’s Mansion 3

October 2019 Games

The next entry in Nintendo’s spooky Luigi’s Mansion series, Luigi’s Mansion 3, is set to debut for Switch on October 31. As the titular plumber, players must use the upgraded Poltergust G-00 and an all-green doppelganger called Gooigi to save his brother, Princess Peach, his dog, and a group of Toads from the clutches of the malicious King Boo. The ability to slam, shoot, and blast away specters returns alongside a cooperative multiplayer component and a competitive, eight-player ScareScraper mode. Despite whatever Luigi may think, his next game looks perfect for Nintendo fans new and old.

In between scooping up ghosts and taking down terrorists, video game fans might be interested in checking out re-releases and compilations like World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition (October 8) and Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition (October 17) if they have yet to see what each has to offer. They shouldn’t get too carried though, as November promises even more highly anticipated titles like Death Stranding, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Shenmue 3, and Doom Eternal. It doesn’t seem like any of us will be able to catch a break anytime soon.
