Belle Delphine banned from Instagram following ‘Gamer Girl Bath Water’ controversy

Belle Delphine has been banned from Instagram following her sale of ‘Gamer Girl Bath Water,’ with the cosplayer having reportedly been removed from the platform after she was reported for “nudity or pornography.” Delphine had over 4.5 million followers on the social network.

Delphine recently thrust herself into the spotlight after revealing she would sell used her used bath water for $30 per jar. The product, which was made available on her official store, swiftly sold out among her followers. However, the stunt inevitably received its fair share of detractors, and it seems that one of these detractors has caused her Instagram account to be shut down.

Trying to access Belle Delphine’s Instagram account now leads to the following message: “Sorry, this page isn’t available.

The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”

While it doesn’t seem like Instagram banned Delphine as a result of the Gamer Girl Bath Water product, it’s arguable that the attention she received as a result of the controversy led to the report. Considering that a huge portion of her online followed was on Instagram, her account being banned will be a significant blow.

Though Instagram has a no nudity and no pornography policy, the social network has been criticized over the years for still allowing such images through its filters. However, it does allow for posts that don’t technically qualify for either category, but nonetheless may be inappropriate for certain audiences.

“While some posts on Instagram may not go against our Community Guidelines, they might not be appropriate for our global community, and we’ll limit those types of posts from being recommended on Explore and hashtag pages,” the company’s Help Centre page reads. “For example, a sexually suggestive post will still appear in Feed if you follow the account that posts it, but this type of content may not appear for the broader community in Explore and hashtag pages.”

It remains to be seen if Belle Delphine will argue against the ban, but at the time of this writing, her Instagram remains deleted.
