Those asking “Is PUBG free on Xbox One?” will be happy to hear that, at time of posting, the battle royale phenomenon is indeed available to play at no additional cost for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Providing you’ve got the required subscription, Xbox owners can install PUBG and play it for free. Unfortunately, this won’t last forever, as it is part of the Xbox Free Play Days Weekend.
Is PUBG Free on Xbox One?
If “free” means “at no additional cost,” then yes, PUBG is currently free on Xbox One during the Xbox Free Play Days Weekend. Those who have paid for an Xbox Live Gold subscription can access the game. If you don’t have Gold, then I’m afraid PUBG will still be shown at full price in the Xbox Store.
When Does the PUBG Free Play Days Weekend End?
The PUBG Free Play Days Weekend is set to end on April 22 at 11:59 p.m PT. Up until the deadline, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download the game from the Gold Member feature area on the Xbox Live home dashboard. (It can also be found by using the search function within the Xbox Store.)
Once the PUBG Free Play Days Weekend has ended, players wishing to continue playing the game will have to buy it. Those who don’t want to make a purchase can delete the game files from the Xbox One console to free up some space.
Will PUBG Be Free Again?
It’s certainly possible that PUBG will be made free again. Microsoft may feature the game in the Free Play Days Weekend another time. If you’re waiting for PUBG to be made available as a Games With Gold title, I wouldn’t hold your breath, as it will likely be years before that happens! (Discounts may be applied as part of a Deals With Gold sale, however.)
