The Mark of the Dwarves and Eitr Imbued are two powers that permanently increase the Leviathan Axe’s stats in God of War. Brok, Sindri, and the World Serpent Jormungandr all give you these permanent buffs during the game, but they don’t really explain what it is they’re doing. Below you’ll find all the info on what the Mark of the Dwarves and Eitr Imbued does in God of War.
What Does Mark of the Dwarves do in God of War?
When you meet Brok the first time in God of War, he’ll offer to improve Kratos’ ax. All he does is give it a quick strike with a hammer, and you’ll see text on the screen that reads “Mark of the Dwarves added.” Unfortunately, Brok (and later Sindri) aren’t too forthwith about what the Mark of the Dwarves does.
If you access the menu and scroll over to resources, you can check out the description for Mark of the Dwarves under the Special Items tab. The description lets you know that the mark permanently increases the Leviathan Axe’s Runic stat by 1. You’ll get multiple marks through the game and their effects stack.
What Does Eitr Imbued Do in God of War?
The first time you meet the world serpent in God of War, Kratos will have to throw his ax into the Lake of Nine. This summons the world serpent, and he’ll speak with you for a moment before lifting some of his body out of the lake to allow it to drain. He’ll spit your ax back at you, and you’ll see the words Eitr Imbued on the screen.
Again, like the mark, the game doesn’t really explain what Eitr Imbued means in God of War. This is another special item that you can look at in the Resources tab in the menu. It gives you a permanent boost to your Runic stat by two. To my knowledge, you’ll only get an Eitr Imbued buff once in the game, and that’s when you first enter the Lake of Nine.
