Fortnite Worlds Collide: What Is the New Worlds Collide Event?

The Fortnite Worlds Collide event is teasing the merging of two universes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like its going to be the worlds of PlayStation and Xbox One, as cross-play is still not supported. What could it mean, then? Well, rumors and leaks are pointing towards a Wild West transformation, with the island and its inhabitants being sent back in time. This could include a new desert map, which would make sense. However, Epic Games appears to be teasing something more than just the Wild West and a new desert map. Here’s what we know about the Fortnite Worlds Collide event.

Fortnite Worlds Collide: What Is the New Worlds Collide Event?

The Fortnite Worlds Collide event appears to be the evolution point for Season 4’s transformation into Season 5. Like we saw with the meteor at the end of Season 3, Epic Games is teasing a huge event that will change various aspects of the island. This time around, it looks like players will be seeing features from other worlds, as rifts open up and bring items in and out of reality.

There is a lot of potential here, as the Fortnite Worlds Collide event could bring literally anything from any era. My money is on this being a constantly changing event, with the Wild West featured during Fortnite Season 5 week 1, before the island is then sent through time to the dinosaurs, or something just as cool!

Fortnite Worlds Collide: When Is the New Worlds Collide Event Happening?

Fortnite Worlds Collide

The Fortnite Worlds Collide event will happen on July 12. This is the Fortnite Season 5 release date, which is no coincidence. There isn’t yet any news on what the Season 5 Battle Pass will contain, but I’m expecting a wide variety of items that are inspired by the Wild West, yes, but also other eras.
