Could BlizzCon 2018 see the announcements of Diablo 4, a new Overwatch expansion, and a Blizzard mobile title—likely World of Warcraft or Diablo? Rumors are certainly swirling around possibilities of all three reveals. Reportedly, Goldman Sachs is expecting several big reveals during the event. There’s no doubt that a new Diablo game would be huge, and a new Overwatch expansion or character would create a lot of hype, too. As for the mobile title? Well, that’s supposed themed around WoW or Diablo.
Possible Diablo 4 and Overwatch Expansion BlizzCon 2018 Announcements
The rumors stem from a recent Reddit post, which contains information about “several significant launch announcements.” BlizzCon 2018 is set to be a massive event. as Blizzard intends to announce a huge range of new content for its titles. BlizzCon will also host this year’s Overwatch World Cup finals.
Fans who didn’t manage to get a ticket to the November event can still purchase a Blizzard Virtual Ticket, which will allow them to tune in to both days of the action from the comfort of their own homes.
Diablo 3 was a long time in production, so the announcement of Diablo 4 won’t imply that the game will be coming any time soon. However, the Overwatch expansion is an interesting one, as Overwatch has been a significant part of the last four BlizzCon events. It was announced at BlizzCon 2014, got a release date in 2015, and had new heroes announced in both 2016 and 2017. It is likely that Overwatch Hero 29 will be announced at BlizzCon 2018, and possibly some other new additions to the game—perhaps a more traditional expansion than the addition of a new hero, like a new map, or game mode.
Aside from this, a new game mode has already come to Overwatch. The Mystery Deathmatch game mode went live this week in Overwatch‘s Arcade section, combining the Mystery Heroes and Free For All game modes.
If you want to tune in to the action at BlizzCon 2018, you can purchase a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket here, which will allow you to stream the event in full on November 2 and November 3, 2018. That way, if Diablo 4 and a new Overwatch expansion are announced, you’ll be among the first to know.
