The Fallout 76 Gauley Mine code can be used to open a room containing some goodies. Fallout 76 introduces doors that are locked by key codes that can’t be hacked or lockpicked open. It’s easy to overlook the code to unlock the cage in Gauley Mine as it’s not really out in the open. Instead, you’ll need to scour the mine to find this secret.
Where to Find the Gauley Mine Code in Fallout 76
Chances are you’ll run into Gauley Mine pretty shortly after starting the Fallout 76. When heading from Sutton to Morgantown as part of the Overseer’s quest line, you’ll likely pass by Slocum’s Joe and Arktos Pharma. Nearby lies Gauley Mine, a subterranean network of caverns inhabited by Scorched.
The location is relatively unremarkable besides the fact that deep in the mines is a cage that is sealed by a keypad. You can’t hack this door or lockpick it. Instead, you must find the code that unlocks it.
If you’re thorough with your exploration, you’ll find notes pointing you towards where the supply cage code is located. To find the code, you’ll need to seek out a tunnel dug into a wall that is irradiated. If you pass through this tunnel, you’ll come to a catwalk with a set of lockers nearby. In one of the lockers with a broken door, you’ll find the Gauley Mine Code.
If you want to just cut to the chase, though, the code is the same every playthrough: 071990.
By entering this code, you can get into the supply cage and raid the items there. It’s not a great cache, but every little bit helps.
Strangely, when I went through Gauley Mine, the cage got opened by a Scorched, which kind of ruined the surprise of the whole thing. A secondary method for opening the cage might be to somehow trick an enemy into doing it, but I’m not quite sure how to do that. There’s also a chance that it could be open because a player recently passed through.
