Fallout 76 claim a workshop

Fallout 76 How to Claim a Workshop

Wondering how to claim a workshop in Fallout 76? Surviving and spreading influence all over post-apocalyptic Appalachia involves a lot of different variables, with crafting and materials being near the top of the list. Claiming a workshop allows players to manufacture crafting materials and craft new items, and each workshop has its own unique attributes. Before those benefits can be earned, however, the workshop must be claimed.

How to Claim a Workshop in Fallout 76

Unlike past games in the franchise, Fallout 76 requires players to stake a claim on workshops. Interestingly, these claims can be contested by other players. Before they can be claimed, however, workshops must be found. Luckily, there are plenty of different workshops that can be claimed all across Appalachia. Here’s a list of the workshops that we’ve found:

  • Billings Homestead
  • Charleston Landfill
  • Gorge Junkyard
  • Grafton Steel Yard
  • Hemlock Holes Maintenance
  • Poseidon Energy Plant Yard
  • Red Rocket Mega Shop
  • Spruce Knob
  • Sunshine Meadows Industrial Field
  • Tyler County Dirt Track

The process to claim a workshop isn’t terribly complicated. Each workshop has its own work bench, and if the workshop hasn’t yet been claimed, players can simply saunter right up to them and plant their metaphorical flag. It’ll take a few bottle caps, but that’s about it. If it has been previously claimed, however, be prepared for a fight.

Oftentimes, claiming a workshop opens up a brief PvP window where other in-server players can fight for ownership rights. To make matters worse, enemies will typically flood the area, searching for a fight wherever they can find one. The best course of action is to set up some defenses and eliminate enemy mobs as quickly as possible, all while watching out for other players.

If things go smoothly, the workshop will be claimed, and the player can start raking in new materials and crafting new items and weapons. Just stay vigilant—there’s no telling who might stop by trying to claim the workshop as their own.
