Pokemon Go Shiny Totodile

Pokemon Go Shiny Totodile – How to catch

There are more than enough standard Pokemon to catch in Pokemon Go, but on top of them all, you can also catch shiny variants. This includes the Pokemon Go Shiny Totodile. You’ll want to read on for the best tips and tricks on how to catch a shiny Totodile in Pokemon Go and the Shiny Totodile location.

Pokemon Go Shiny Totodile – What is it?

For every Pokemon in Pokemon Go, there is a shiny version. Typically speaking, these shiny versions of each Pokemon carry the same stats, movesets, and other such similarities. Essentially, the shiny Pokemon are the same as their standard variant, but with a snazzy palette swap.

Shiny Totodile, however, isn’t too flash when compared to its standard form. Rather, the Shiny Totodile is simply turquoise instead of its regular light-blue color. That’s it. Despite the lackluster changes, however, you will still want to get your hands on a Shiny Totodile in Pokemon Go. Only the very best own the Shinies.

Pokemon Go Shiny Totodile – How to catch

While there are multiple ways in which you can catch a Shiny Totodile in Pokemon Go, your best bet will be to play the game during the January 2019 Community Day. Totodile is the Featured Pokemon of the Community Day event that will last three hours on January 12, 2019.

During the event, you’ll have the chance to catch as many Totodiles as you want, in effect. On top of a vastly increased Totodile spawn rate, you will be given three hour long Lures to use, which will increase your chances of finding and catching a Shiny Totodile simply by increasing its spawn rate.

There are plenty of other ways of increasing your chances of finding and catching a Shiny Totodile in Pokemon Go, even outside of the Community Day event. Roughly, you will find a Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go every 1 in 450 encounters. Needless to say, they are rare. Using items such as Lures and Incense will increase the likelihood of finding and catching a Shiny Totodile. Hopefully, Niantic adds in the Shiny Charm and Catch Combos from Pokemon Let’s Go, too, which makes finding Shinies much easier.

Remember to have a healthy supply of Poke Balls and Berries, though, as you’ll be needing them to catch your Shiny Totodile in Pokemon Go!
