I know, I know. We shouldn’t really be thinking about the Overwatch season 15 end date just yet, especially with the competitive season having just launched, but it never hurts to look ahead. So, below, we’ll take a gander at when Overwatch season 15 finishes and, crucially, when Overwatch season 16 begins.
When is the Overwatch season 15 end date?
We haven’t had anything official from Blizzard, but we can zero in on the actual Overwatch season 15 end date with a few educated guesses.
No matter the calendar year, Overwatch always has six seasons, with each season lasting around two months. For example, a season can start at the beginning of January and conclude at the very end of February.
With season 15 kicking off on March 1, common logic would dictate that we’re looking at a season 15 end date of Tuesday, April 30 judging by the patterns of previous seasons and their end dates all falling on the last day of the second month of the season. It’s not very long at all when you think about it, but there’s no rest for the wicked when it comes to Overwatch, that’s for sure.
When does Overwatch season 16 start?
If you’ve taken time off from Overwatch, you may not be privy to the fact that the rest period in-between seasons, typically lasting two or three days, has been wiped completely. In its place is a straight rollover to the very next season. That has been the case since Overwatch season 13’s end on December 31, 2018.
That would mean that we’ve got an Overwatch season 16 start date of Wednesday, May 1, which aligns with last year’s season 10 start date on May 1, 2018. So, by my count, you’ve just got over six weeks left of season 15 as of writing. We’ll update this page when we get official word from Blizzard but, for now, we’ll have to make do with circling the calendar in pencil in anticipation of any dates being moved.
