After a few weeks of being on the market, The Division 2 players are still encountering new bugs and glitches. The Division 2 DX12 bug is a bad one, however. If you have encountered The Division 2 DX12 crash error, you will want to know if there is a fix or not. That’s where we come in. Read on for the full lowdown on The Division 2 DX12 bugs, including stuttering and crashes to the desktop. We’ll let you know if there’s a fix or not towards the end of this guide.
What are The Division 2 DX12 errors?
There are a couple of errors regarding the use of DX12 on The Division 2. This is a pain, of course, as DX12 should make games run better on PC, with more detail present. The trouble is, The Division 2 and DX12 don’t appear to get on with one another. According to this Reddit thread, this is especially true when players are using Nvidia products and DX12.
For whatever reason, it appears as though the combination of The Division 2, Nvidia, and DX12 is one that doesn’t work. Players have been complaining about crashes to the desktop, computer freezing, and poor stuttering when using DX12 on The Division 2. One player had to hard reboot their PC after The Division 2 crashed and took them back to the desktop. It seems, though, that there is a potential workaround for the problem.
The Division 2 DX12 crash error fix
If you have been encountering any issues with DX12 while playing The Division 2, you’ll be relieved to hear that there could be a workaround that works. It’s simple enough, too, although not ideal.
If you swap to DX11, you should no longer see The Division 2 DX12 crashes and stuttering. Unfortunately, this means you won’t be able to get the best out of the game’s visuals. Swapping to DX11 hasn’t worked for everyone, either. Thankfully, Ubisoft is aware of the issues. Hopefully, an official fix can release as part of a future game update.
