Players have been left frusrated by an ongoing Borderlands GOTY screen tearing issue. The visual problem in the Borderlands remaster is ensuring that people’s experiences of Borderlands 1 are being marred by it. Find out if there’s a Borderlands GOTY screen tearing fix in our guide.
Borderlands GOTY Screen Tearing Issue
The Borderlands screen tearing issue has been affecting PS4 and Xbox One players over the weekend, and causing plenty of consternation among the fanbase. PS4 Pro owners seem to have been effected by it more than others, while a couple of PC users have also made mention of it.
The problem isn’t occurring at the same junction in the game either. As this search on the game’s Reddit page shows, people have been complaining that the screen tearing problem is afflicting them at various points. Some have mentioned that it’s only noticable during fire fights, while others have been beset by it from the game’s intro.
Borderlands GOTY Screen Tearing Fix
Depending on what platform you’re on, there are a couple of Borderlands GOTY screen tearing fixes that you can try. If you’re playing the game on a PS4 Pro, you can turn off your console’s Boost Mode. To do this, close Borderlands and open up your PS4 Pro’s settings menu. From there, head to the system sub-menu, and select Boost Mode. Press the X button to toggle it off. Load up Borderlands again, and see if this has helped.
If you come across the problem on PC, you can turn off the V-Sync option in your graphic driver’s settings. This seems to have helped a few people with Nvidia graphics cards, so it’s well worth a try if you have one of those.
Xbox One owners are currently out of luck though. There’s no way to solve this problem, temporarily or permanently, for you yet. You can lodge a ticket at the official Gearbox forums and explain the situation to their support team. There’s a chance that the development team have noticed this problem on all platforms, so hopefully it won’t be long before it’s fixed.
