It appears as though there is a broken campaign mission in Anno 1800. The Anno 1800 Emergency Evacuation bug has been affecting many players and is effectively halting game progress. Obviously, this isn’t a good thing. Read on to discover whether or not there is an Anno 1800 Emergency Evacuation bug fix. We’ve got all the details for you below.
Anno 1800 Emergency Evacuation Bug | What’s the issue?
As stated above, it appears as though the Anno 1800 Emergency Evacuation campaign mission is bugged. This mission is in the New World section of the game, which means it should be around 9-10 hours into the game. This is a bug that is affecting many players. There are a lot of people complaining about it on the official Anno 1800 support forums.
It appears as though the bug is mostly affecting those of you playing the game in expert difficulty mode. It has been mentioned as cropping up in easier difficulties too, however. Essentially, players are finding that they are asked to escort a handful of Isabelle Sarmiento’s ships to La Isla, but the game won’t let them do it.
There are multiple reports of the game freaking out, sending the ships in question to the south (away from La Isla), where they get stuck forever at the bottom of the map. No matter what players do, it seems as though they cannot complete the quest. It does appear, though, that it is known what might cause the bug to happen. More on that below.
Anno 1800 Emergency Evacuation Bug | Is there a fix?
Unfortunately, there is no proper fix for the broken mission. Ubisoft is aware of the problem, however, and the development team is currently investigating the issue. It does appear, though, that the bug may occur after something specific takes place.
When you reach the New World, enemies will attempt to take hold of La Isla. Do not let them take the island. If they do, the quest will likely not work, even if you re-take the island beforehand. We’d recommend trying as hard as possible to keep hold of La Isla at least until you’ve completed the Emergency Evacuation mission. If the quest is bugged and broken for you, unfortunately, you’re either going to have to wait for a fix via an update, or you’ll need to reload to the last save before you lost La Isla and try it all again.
