Industrious Vault Hunters may have uncovered the Borderlands 3 Ascension Bluff locked area whilst exploring Gearbox and 2K Games’ latest looter-shooter. Located in the northeast corner of the planet Pandora (setting to the original two games), the sealed doors feature inlaid red gems that may link them to ancient alien race the Eridians. With mystery looming, how exactly can you open these doors and discover what lies hidden behind them?
How to access the Ascension Bluff locked area in Borderlands 3
While there’s currently no known legitimate method of gaining entry to the hidden area behind Ascension Bluff’s locked doors, there is a means of bypassing them. If you don’t mind bending the rules a bit, then start by kitting out a vehicle with the lightest possible components before heading to the area southwest of the locked doors. Here you should see a natural rock formation that looks like and can be used as a makeshift ramp, enabling you to jump right over those mysterious Ascension Bluff doorways.

Get a decent run-up to build speed, stick to the right-hand side of the rock ramp, hit your boosters, then aim to soar over the walls and into the hidden area that’s nestled behind. If done correctly, you’ll find yourself in an empty arena-like location that perhaps only raises more questions. The arena appears to currently be remaining locked for good reason, as whatever content is intended to be housed here presumably hasn’t yet been added to the game.
It seems likely that a DLC boss encounter will feature here in the future, at which point a legitimate way of opening up the Borderlands 3 Ascension Bluff locked area will also most likely be implemented into the game. It’s not hugely exciting, but if you do want to explore the area ahead of time you can do so using the method outlined here. Good hunting!
