If you’ve been playing Gearbox Software and 2K Games’ latest looter-shooter, you might have heard whispers of an in-game chest that surpasses even the rare Golden Loot Chest. The abundant Legendary items waiting inside make Golden Chests a valuable prospect, but what about a Borderlands 3 Diamond Loot Chest in-game location? Those would surely be even more lucrative, but can you actually seek them out?
Does Borderlands 3 have in-game Diamond Loot Chests?
While a Diamond Loot Chest certainly does exist in relation to Borderlands 3, unfortunately, it likely doesn’t take quite the form you were expecting. This Diamond Chest is a physical collector’s item that exists wholly outside of the video game; it came bundled with various versions of Borderlands 3 and was sold at specific retailers in different regions of the world.

Inside the chest are ten 3″ tall character figurines depicting the four heroic Vault Hunters, villains the Calypso Twins, and four additional fan-favourite characters. There’s also a constructable model of in-game ship Sanctuary III, four Vault Key keychains, character art lithographs, and a cloth galaxy map. What’s interesting, however, is that the Diamond Loot Chest which houses everything is described as being a “replica.”
This tidbit may well be what’s sparked some confusion about whether or not these chests actually feature in-game. A replica, true to the name, conventionally replicates an existing thing and by that logic, there must be Diamond Loot Chests in Borderlands 3, right? Well, not necessarily. No such item has yet been discovered in the title, so at this point, it seems safe to assume that the chest in question is just a cool collectible item for devoted Borderlands fans.
That news might come as a bummer, shattering your dreams of being showered in loot glory, but at least you no longer need search in vain.
