Recently, Fortnite players on PS4 have been complaining about hitching, something that is understandably a major issue in a battle royale game. Epic Games had to solve this problem as soon as possible, due to the frustration that it brings to anyone trying to take the number one spot. After a tweet on November 1 where the studio said that it was looking into it, we finally have the Fortnite 2.44 Update Patch Notes (11.10.2) confirming that the issue has been fixed.

Epic announced the surprise patch on Twitter, hopefully putting an end on the hitching issues for Fortnite PS4 players. “A download is required,” the tweet reads.

Lately, Epic has stopped releasing Fortnite patch notes, a trend that became visible after the release of Fortnite Chapter 2, where the developer urged players to “take your #FirstDrop and discover everything new.” In other words, much has changed but you must discover it for yourself. The downside of this is that some of the additions were so astonishing that you could even fly a boat. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature, as they usually say.
As for the Fortnite 2.44 Update Patch Notes, what there is mentions solving the hitching problems. Hitching is an issue where a video game suddenly begins stuttering, something that the PC launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 suffered from as well. Evidently, these have a major effect in a battle royale game, where timing and reflexes are crucial to your survival. A small and unexpected stance of hitching can be enough to make your efforts go to waste. One player even said that he was “literally about to uninstall the game. The amount of gunfights I lost was unbearable,” he stated.
