The first couple of in-game events are on the way to the game, including the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Earth Day event. In this guide, we’ll let you in on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Earth Day release date, so you should know when the second in-game event will be taking place. Read on to discover when Earth Day starts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. We’ll also let you in on what you might expect from the game’s second event.
When is the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Earth Day release date?
While we know when the Bunny Day event should take place in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as of writing, unfortunately, we don’t know for certain when the Earth Day event should begin. Based on the fact that Earth day takes place on April 22, 2020, however, we can surmise that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Earth Day release date should also fall on April 22, 2020. This definitely falls in line with the vague “available later in April” date Nintendo gave us in its March 26, 2020, mini Nintendo Direct.

While we’ll update this guide with more information if it’s deemed necessary, it’s safe to pencil in April 22, 2020, as the Earth Day event release date in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It could change, or not be on Earth Day itself, we’ll have to wait and see for the moment. All we know for now is that the Earth Day event is set to drop “later in April” alongside a free game update.
Presumably, Earth Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has something to do with Leif. Leif’s face is alongside the announcement of the event and update, anyway, which you can see in the image above. With Leif involved, it could have something to do with plants, as that’s what the character is known for in previous Animal Crossing games. What the update and Earth Day will bring, however, is anyone’s guess for now.
