The wilds of Appalachia in Fallout 76 are full of terrifying and powerful creatures. One of these is the Sheepsquatch, a horned beast mutated through decades of radiation. It’s a very elusive monster, meaning it’s often hard to track down a specific Sheepsquatch location. Fortunately, we do have a few ideas on where to find a Sheepsquatch in Fallout 76.
Fallout 76 Sheepsquatch location | Where to find Sheepsquatch
Sheepsquatch in Fallout 76 are often found as random spawns around locations such as Vault 96 or various bogs. They sometimes appear near Welch or Braxson’s Quality Medical Supplies, and can be also be found during three specific in-game events: Free Range, Ash Heap, and Project Paradise.

Since they tend to spawn at random, there’s no guaranteed place to encounter one. However, two Sheepsquatches typically appear as bosses at the end of the Free Range event. One Prime Sheepsquatch is the final boss in the Ash Heap event. It’s also possible to encounter an Alpha Sheepsquatch during the Project Paradise event.
Otherwise, these powerful creatures tend to be elusive. The most common sightings are around the cliff outside Vault 96, but players have also reported them in places such as Creekside, Braxon’s Quality Medical Supplies, and Bog Town.
When you do finally encounter a Sheepsquatch, be ready for a fight. These creatures are very aggressive, and they sport high damage, energy, and radiation resistance. They also have two different area-of-effect attacks, meaning they’re more than capable of putting up a fight against crowds.
If you manage to take one down, you’ll have a chance of earning loot such as Sheepsquatch meat, skulls, and horns, in addition to Mysterious quill and Mysterious fur.
The easiest way to find a Sheepsquatch in Fallout 76 is through events such as Free Range, Ash Heap, or Project Paradise. Otherwise, their locations are largely random, but you may encounter one around Vault 96 or on the road outside Welch.
