Battlefield intel is everything in Call of Duty: Warzone. Most players are likely already familiar with the UAV, which reveals enemy locations on the minimap. However, there’s a brand new addition that instead serves to scramble the in-game radar. It’s called the counter-UAV, and it was quietly slipped into the game in a recent update. Here’s how to use the counter-UAV in Call of Duty: Warzone.
How to get a Counter-UAV in Call of Duty: Warzone
To use a counter-UAV in Call of Duty: Warzone, you need to get all four teammates to call in a UAV at once. Rather than simply revealing enemy locations, deploying four UAVs will additionally scramble the radar for all players in the match for 30 seconds. There’s also a rare chance for a counter-UAV to appear within buy stations.
Deploying these manually is expensive: Calling in four UAVs costs a grand total of $16,000. However, doing so notably affects every enemy player, hiding all minimaps regardless of distance and obscuring safe zone boundaries. With that said, manual deployment does allow your squad mates to see enemy locations on their radar. In a sense, it’s like an even more upgraded version of the advanced UAV. That means you and your teammates will see everything, while everyone else will see nothing. Talk about OP.
The counter-UAV is also available from buy stations. It appears very rarely, but when it does, it only costs $4,500. That’s a major discount when compared to manual deployment.
Aside from rendering UAVs useless, the counter-UAV in Warzone also reduces the benefits of various perks. Running the Ghost perk is a great way to stay hidden from enemies, but with a counter-UAV active, Ghost is effectively worthless. It’s also a great way to nullify the effects of another squad’s advanced UAV, assuming you’re reasonably sure that one has been deployed.
