Is there a Deadly Premonition 2 FPS drops and bad frame-rate fix?
Playing Deadly Premonition 2 with the Switch docked should make the game run a little better than it does in handheld mode. You likely won’t notice too much of a difference, however. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can actually do to make the frame-rate in Deadly Premonition 2 any better than it currently is. This is an issue that can only be fixed with a patch from the game’s development team. All you can do is wait for a patch to come out to try and fix some of the game’s FPS issues.
Swery65’s sequel to the classic so-bad-it’s-good horror detective game is full of frame-rate problems on the Nintendo Switch. As stated above, there is nothing you can do about it aside from wait for a potential patch to fix the issues. While playing the game docked to your TV should help the game run slightly better, you’ll still notice bad frame-rate and FPS drops.
If you’ve yet to buy the game, you can see the bad frame-rate in question in these two tweets. The first, from Jade King (@KonaYMA6), shows just how choppy the game is in its open outside areas. To make things more ridiculous than they are already when it comes to Deadly Premonition 2, the game’s creator and director, Hidetaka SWERY, tweeted some footage of a bowling minigame in his new title. The frame-rate drop is, err, spectacular.

Thankfully, there’s nothing wrong with your Switch. The frame-rate issues in Deadly Premonition 2 are entirely game-related. Again, you’ll have to wait for an update to come in and patch out the problems. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like an update for this will come any time soon. Speaking to Jim Sterling on YouTube (2 minutes 12 seconds in), a Deadly Premonition 2 PR spokesperson claimed that there are “no plans to fix the frame-rate.” Hopefully, though, the development team has a change of heart.
