A horse is a Jin’s best friend in Ghost of Tsushima, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have multiple best friends. The player’s trusty steed is great for quickly moving around the map and avoiding fights from both human enemies and hostile animals. With multiple horses to choose from at the start of the game, it’s only natural to wonder if there are more samurai steeds waiting to be discovered. Here’s your answer to “Can you get more horses in Ghost of Tsushima?”
Can you get more horses in Ghost of Tsushima?
Yes, you can get more horses in Ghost of Tsushima in the form of temporary mounts, but you can only have one main horse.
Temporary mounts can be found around the open world. You’re most likely to bump into them when enemies ride them into battle. Once you have dealt with their old rider, you can run up to them and hit the “R2” to ride. You can then keep this horse until you recall your main horse or until you reload a save.
Your main mount is the horse you choose during the story. This is a samurai horse, making it more suitable for Jin than the other horses in the game. Though you can get other temporary horses, you’ll always be able to get your main mount back by whistling.
Horses don’t have different stats or anything like that, so there’s no need to look for horse upgrades. The horse you get at the start moves as quickly as any other horse and has infinite health, meaning it can’t die through gameplay.
