Phasmophobia is a very dark game, both literally and metaphorically. As such, the flashlight is a very commonly used item. However, when you have it actively equipped, it’s usually in your hands. Then, if you swap to other tools or equipment, it winds up being put away, leaving you in darkness. Fortunately, you can get around this illumination problem by learning how to put the flashlight on your shoulder.
Phasmophobia | How to put the flashlight on your shoulder
Phasmophobia allows you to put the flashlight on your shoulder so you can continue to see while using other items. To do so, make sure it’s in your inventory, then press T while you have another item equipped. The flashlight will then be placed on your shoulder.
Many players will probably discover this function by accident. The flashlight is one of the most useful tools in the game, as many of the environments are enveloped in darkness. By default it’s mapped to the T key. As such, when you press T with a different item in-hand, it will appear on your shoulder.
Of course, this only works if the torch is in your inventory to begin with. You can’t simply press T and have it magically appear on your character. However, you don’t have to keep it in your hands in order to actually use it. Hence the option to have it mounted onto your shoulder, leaving your hands free to use other items. It’s a small touch, sure, but it can give you a sense of safety in an otherwise horrifying situation.
