Cyberpunk 2077 | Can you buy apartments or houses?

V starts out Cyberpunk 2077 with an apartment in a megablock of Night City. This giant building isn’t exactly the nicest place to live, and as V becomes one of the big movers and shakers of Night City, players will likely want to upgrade their housing. Most open-world RPGs similar to Cyberpunk 2077 give the player at least a few options when it comes to apartments or other dwellings, but is that the case here?

Can you get new apartments or houses in Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 buy new apartments houses

Players can access new places to live in Cyberpunk 2077. However, it’s not as easy as slapping down some money and buying one. Instead, players must earn additional housing through playing the game.

Housing is useful for two reasons (other than the roleplaying factors). Players can sleep to regain health and remove status effects. The stash allows players to offload excess items that they wish they keep. This is important because V can only carry a limited amount of items before he becomes overburdened.

So far, we’ve only found two places that are marked as “V’s Apartment” on the map:

  • V’s initial apartment in Heywood
  • A tent in the Aldecaldos camp after completing Panam’s questline.

We assume that each relationship path might open a new place to stay for V, but we haven’t confirmed that yet. Other than the two locations above, we haven’t found any other place where V can sleep and access his stash.

It’s possible that CD Projekt Red will add more apartments and housing in a future DLC. This might even include the ability to buy property throughout Night City. Until then, V is pretty limited in where they can hang their hat. Fortunately, the most important feature of the apartment, the stash, is also available from the trunk of any vehicle V owns (sans motorcycles).
