A new Xbox Series X/S error is cropping up that seems to severely affect the console’s loading. This green loading screen error leaves your Xbox constantly trying to boot up, with nothing ever happening. It’s so damaging, in fact, that some are even calling it the green screen of death. If you’ve encountered this error, worry not, as we’re here to help fix it.
How to fix Xbox stuck on green loading screen
If your Xbox console is stuck on a green loading screen, there are several things you can do to fix it:
- Firstly, you’ll want to try manually turning your console on and off.
- This is done by pressing the Xbox button on the front of your system, and waiting to hear a beep. Once it’s off, turn it back on, and the chances are it’ll boot up normally.
- Failing that, it’s worth totally unplugging your console from the mains.
- Leave it unplugged for a few minutes, then plug it back in and try again. This will ensure there’s no power at all going through your console, meaning when you turn it back on, it should be fresh once more.
- Your next option is to perform a factory reset, which will completely restore your Xbox to its base settings and configuration.
- Make sure you’ve backed up your saved data and settings beforehand, as they’ll be removed from the console through a factory reset. Simply download the Xbox factory reset program from the official site onto a USB, and then connect that to your console. That’s the only way to do it if the UI isn’t working.
If all these other tips fail, then it’ll be worth contacting Xbox support. They’ll be able to take the console in for repairs if necessary, to get to the bottom of the problem. By that point, it should hopefully be sorted!
