Dark Souls 4 Release Date

Dark Souls 4 Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Is there a Dark Souls 4 release date? It’s been six years since the release of the last full Dark Souls game and fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of From Software’s latest Souls-like action RPG, the epic Elden Ring. However, as Elden Ring is a very different proposition to the Dark Souls universe and the Dark Souls trilogy remains popular, will there be a new Dark Souls game on PC and consoles, including last-gen systems like Nintendo Switch?

What is the Dark Souls 4 release date on PC and consoles?

Dark Souls 4 Release Date

Dark Souls 4 will probably not release until around 2024 or later as From Software is currently focused on Elden Ring, so any further projects that aren’t announced or far in development will likely not be out for a couple of years.

Series Hidetaka Miyazaki has previously suggested that he is done with the Dark Souls series but the franchise’s popularity could at least pull From Software back, even if Miyazaki himself isn’t behind it.

If Dark Souls 4 is in production, it could possibly release on current and last-gen systems, so PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5 alongside PS4 and Xbox One, as even Elden Ring has last-gen versions. However, this could change by the time Dark Souls 4 actually comes out. At the moment, the strong rumor is that From Software’s next game will actually be a more Souls-like Armored Core 6, so a new Dark Souls may be a few years out yet.

Will there be a Dark Souls 4 Switch release?

It seems unlikely that Dark Souls 4 will be on Nintendo Switch, given that only Dark Souls Remastered is out for Nintendo Switch and Elden Ring is seemingly not planned for Nintendo’s new console.

However, it is possible that Nintendo may have a new console or an actual more powerful Nintendo Switch Pro system available by the time Dark Souls 4 comes out, so the game may be out on that console instead.
