Elden Ring 2 Release Date

Elden Ring 2: Will There Be a Sequel or Prequel?

With Elden Ring now having been out for a couple of weeks, players are understandably beginning to wonder what’s next. Is there going to be an Elden Ring 2, in the same way that there is a Dark Souls 2? Would it be a sequel, a prequel, or follow a different story entirely? There are many questions that need answering. Read on for up-to-date information about the Elden Ring 2 release date.

Is there an Elden Ring 2 release date?

Elden Ring 2 Release Date

An Elden Ring 2 release date hasn’t yet been confirmed.

A follow-up to the hugely successful Elden Ring hasn’t been announced. Developer FromSoftware hasn’t confirmed what it plans to do with the IP, though some do expect DLC to be added at some point.

Following the potential DLC release, it’s unknown where Elden Ring would go. The developer has both created sequels to successful hits and left others alone as standalone experiences, so there’s precedence for both directions.

Will there ever be a new Elden Ring game?

Elden Ring 2 Release Date

It’s highly likely that there will be a new Elden Ring game.

Though it’s purely speculation on our part, as there has been zero confirmation or even hints towards a new ER game, the sheer success of Elden Ring should encourage a sequel. At the very least, we expect Elden Ring-style gameplay to make another appearance, with the combination of Dark Souls mechanics in a big open world delivering some of the best experiences in gaming.

This post will be updated with more information about Elden Ring 2 (in whatever form it takes), as and when it becomes available. Stay tuned!
