As the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 quickly approaches, it’s no wonder that players are starting to wonder whether or not skins and camos from the first Warzone experience will transfer over to the new game when it releases. Without users knowing the definitive answer, some players will hold off adding to their CoD wardrobe, as they might only get a couple of months of playtime out of them. Here is what we know about Warzone 2, and if the skins will be useable across both games.
Will Warzone skins transfer to Warzone 2?
No, Warzone skins will not transfer over to Warzone 2.
Infinity Ward released an announcement on June 8 stating that Warzone as we know it will remain as a “separate experience.”
Warzone 2.0 will feature new Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories. Today’s Warzone will continue as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience. We can’t wait to share more details soon.
With the two games being kept separate, this allows for completely unrelated progression, different loot, and independent inventories.
Some users may be disappointed to hear this, especially if they’ve invested a lot of money into skins, Weapon Blueprints, and other premium items. However, others may be happy to hear about the new refresh, allowing users to create a bigger and better collection the second time around.
While it’s obviously not great news for players who already own a bunch of items, it does at least confirm that those who want to stick with the original Warzone experience can do so. It won’t be shutting down anytime soon.
