The Resident Evil Village iPhone compatibility list is rather tight, but getting RE8 to run on a mobile iOS device is already quite impressive. I actually had the chance to play the game as it ran on an iPad Pro at a Capcom media event behind closed doors, though there are more Apple devices that are able to cope with the technical demands of Capcom’s latest title in the franchise. While you can use the game’s touchscreen controls to play the game, you’re better off playing it with a paired Xbox Series or PlayStation DualSense controller via Bluetooth. Here’s a quick list of iPhones, iPads, and more that can run Resident Evil 8.
What is the Resident Evil Village iPhone compatibility list?
Resident Evil Village iPhone compatibility is limited to the iPhone 15 as well as iPads that use the M1 chip (or better). Here is a general list of devices that satisfy these requirements:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Max
- iPad Pro (11-inch, 3rd generation) from 2021
- iPad Pro (12.9-inch, 5th generation) from 2021
- iPad Air (5th generation) from 2022
Any of recent iPads that use the M2 chip, like the sixth-generation M2 iPad Pro, will also run the game and likely at a higher framerate and overall performance than its M1 brethren. For the iPhone, the game requires a device with an A17 Pro chip or later.
That said, no matter which compatible device you use to play the game, you’ll want to fine-tune the graphics settings by heading to the in-game options. There are settings for general FPS, shadows, bloom, lighting, text quality, and more that you can adjust to better tailor the game’s graphics to your particular platform.
If you own the Mac version of RE8, we recommend looking into cross-save functionality with your iOS device. Until November 20, you can purchase the game and the Winters’ Expansion at a 60% discount on the App Store.
