Does Call of Duty: Warzone have bullet drop?

Call of Duty: Warzone injects a couple of new ideas into the battle royale genre. Though if we’re speaking honestly, the biggest change is that it throws up to 150 players into a gigantic open area. With all that space to fight, you’ll want to find a weapon that remains accurate across a long distance. And at that range, you may find yourself inadvertently compensating for bullet drop. But does Warzone have bullet drop? That’s what we’re here to discuss.

Does Warzone have bullet drop?

Yes, there is bullet drop in Call of Duty: Warzone. That’s because the game’s guns and bullets exhibit the exact same behavior as they do in Modern Warfare. Since Warzone was developed around the same engine used in Modern Warfare, all of the guns handle the same, and that includes bullet drop.

With that said, not every gun experiences the same amount of drop off. Considering the map size in Warzone, the drop will mainly affect guns that have a short or moderate range. Then again, you probably already know that SMGs, pistols, and shotguns don’t make for very accurate long-range weapons.

As you may expect, the drop effect is much less pronounced when using scoped rifles. With this class of weapons specifically, there’s really no need need to compensate for extreme ranges or elevation. In other words, if you’re using a weapon like the HDR, AX50, EBR-14, or really any of the game’s scoped rifles, you shouldn’t have to worry about bullet drop. You will still need to lead your target’s movements across range, though.

While there is definitely bullet drop in Call of Duty: Warzone, it’s not something you’ll need to think much about. Short-range weapons understandably see the largest drop effect, but scoped rifles and sniper rifles will still be mostly accurate across long distances.
