Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has shared some new information on the next entry in its action adventure series staring the beloved Lara Croft.
In the latest issue of Game Informer, we learn that Rise of the Tomb Raider is set after the events of the prior title, as Lara deals with aftermath of what took place on Yamatai. Her adventure then takes her to the harsh locales of Siberia as she seeks "the lost secrets of immortality."
The game will have a larger emphasis on actual tomb raiding this time around, and Lara will have more ways to traverse the environment, from climbing trees to hiding in foliage. This will allow her to approach combat in new and varied ways.
It's also important to note that the Xbox 360 version of the game won't be developed by Crystal Dynamics. Instead, Nixxes Software will be handling the last-gen port. "We're wholly focused on Rise being an Xbox One title without limitation, without even thinking of the Xbox 360 version," Square Enix's Darrell Gallagher told GI.
Rise of the Tomb Raider launches this holiday season, exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
