Star Wars: Battlefront Details Leaked [Update: Trailer Revealed]

Details on EA DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront, one of the main headliners at today's Star Wars Celebration, has been leaked by AP (which could be taken down any moment!).

According to the report, it is a multiplayer shooter set in the original film trilogy and will release exclusively for next-gen consoles PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17.

Players will be split into two groups, Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, in 40-man battles where "a team of jetpack-equipped rebels were shown carving their way through the woodsy Endor while Stormtroopers charged at them on foot, on speeders and within walkers, including a hulking AT-AT war machine." Apart from Endor, the action will also take place in other environments like Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust.

Star Wars: Battlefront will also let you take the role of Boba Fett and Darth Vader without needing to concentrate solely on expandable ground troops. Director Niklas Fegraeus said that as the Dark Lord himself, you can "wield a lightsaber," "choke the rebel team," and "lead your team to victory—if you play well."

In between fights on the ground, players can pilot TIE Fighters, X-wings starfighters, and even the Millennium Falcon in action-packed dogfights, though few details were provided on how players would switch between combat on the ground and in the air.

About two weeks before the release of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18, a free downloadable level called Battle of Jakku will release that will "explore the moment following Return of the Jedi when the New Republic confronted Imperial holdouts on the previously unseen Outer Rim enclave."

What do you think so far about these delicious details on Star Wars: Battlefront? Our own Peter Paras will have more details on the game is his report.
