After a length introduction, Fallout producer and director Todd Howard took the stage. As anticipated, a full gameplay trailer of the next title in the franchise was shown. To put it lightly, it was the highlight of the Bethesda Press Conference.
Howard started by emphasizing Fallout 4's attention to detail, showing off a control panel in the game as an example of how much work has gone into crafting its world. This isn't just a place that's massive, it's been crafted meticulously, and it showed in the video.
As rumored, the main character of Fallout 4 is fully voice acted. You can sculpt his or her face to your heart's desire. No matter what gender you play as, you will experience a cataclysmic event and find yourself awake 200 years later. The world will been ravaged, and most of the people you used to know will no longer exist.
In contrast to some of the complaints following the initial trailer, Fallout 4 is a very pretty open-world game. There's a great balance of color, while still evoking the sense of the game's post-apocalyptic nature.
"Player freedom remains our number one goal", said Todd Howard during the presentation. The video then showed the main character exploring very early on in the game, deciding where to go without constraint.
You will have a pet dog that follows you around, and can command him to assist you on your journey. In the debut he is shown fetching an item from a garage.
Additionally, Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System is back, allowing you to decide where to shoot enemies after pausing time. This, and the user interface, are very similar to what we've seen before. This system will run on an all-new Pip-Boy that has mini-games, improved visuals, and more.
Lastly, you'll have the option to rebuild the world as you explore it. You can fix walls, place furniture, and craft places to dwell in with your trusty pet. You will need to acquire materials as you explore in order to do this. This was given several minutes of time during the presentation as it's considered one of the major additions to the series.

A collector's edition was announced which includes a Pip-Boy that allows you to place your smartphone inside. There will be an iOS and Android app that allows you to use the Pip-Boy just like in the game.
A release date is yet to be revealed.
Fallout 4 will release November 10th of this year for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
