Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta Downloadable Now, Matchmaking Issues Acknowledged

Naughty Dog has a surprise! The Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta on PlayStation 4 is already available, one day early, to everyone who owns Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

Accessible from now until December 13, the multiplayer beta will test the online infrastructure of the multiplayer component of Uncharted 4 and will allow the developers to get early feedback and impressions from players. Your progress in this beta, of course, will not transfer to the retail version of the game when it released on March 18, 2016.

The multiplayer beta will feature five Mysticals, which allow players to use supernatural powers including teleportation, revival, and enemy-tracking, and Sidekicks such as a Sniper, Savior, Hunter, and Brute to assist you. You will also be given 150 Uncharted Points for various vanity items like hats, outfits, and taunts. By completing challenges, which refresh at 3:00pm at the player's local time, you can earn Relics for Vanity Chests.

You will need both a PlayStation Plus account and a valid save from the Nathan Drake Collection to access the beta. Unlike other betas that use vouchers, this 7GB beta can be downloaded by selecting "Overview" from the game's icon menu and selecting the Multiplayer Beta tile that appears.

Naughty Dog is currently aware of the matchmaking issues and error messages. It is a beta, after all. As a technical test, you can expect patches to be deployed across the beta's duration.
