Effectively replacing the Club Nintendo rewards program, My Nintendo launches today alongside Miitomo, the first mobile game by Nintendo available for free on iTunes and Google Play.
By completing missions, performing certain tasks, or purchasing with real money, you'll earn three different types of points in My Nintendo's loyalty program. Some examples of missions include changing your Mii's clothes once in a day and providing answers in Miitomo.
Gold points act as premium currency and are collected only by purchasing digital games, with roughly 10 points earned for every $10 spent. There are specific tiers that determine the amount of gold points you'll accrue, so buying a digital game anywhere from $5-$9.99 will net you 10 points. Gold points can be traded in for large 30% discounts on specific games and can be traded in for a game from a strong selection of titles.
On a slightly lower level, you can earn Miitomo points earned by playing Miitomo of course and Platinum points earned by daily logins, social media account linkage, and other means. These two currencies can lead to 15% discounts and a smaller selection of titles.
