Tons of PlayStation Vita details came out of Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference. There was plenty of great news: A release date; massive launch line-up; new titles; over 100 games in development! But there was also some not-so-great news, like the pricing of the memory cards, and Vita's battery life. But Sony has a solution to at least one of those problems.
It was disappointing to find out that the PlayStation Vita only had a battery life comparable to the 3DS's 3-5 hour run-time. To ease some concerns about short playtime, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has said that they'll be releasing an external battery for the PlayStation Vita, which should provide ample extra battery life on top of the 3-5 hours.
Of course, this comes at a cost. But at least the option is there, and it's not something that is going to alter the size and shape of the Vita itself.
More details on this PlayStation Vita external battery to come in the coming months leading up to launch.
