If you woke up this morning and tried to log into PlayStation Network, you had, shall we say, some difficulty doing so. After confirming with some of your other online pals, you found out that PSN was indeed down.
Seven hours later, the folks at PlayStation also found out.
Several sources across the internet are speculating that this is related to the major DDoS attacks that happened this morning, mostly effecting the greater east coast area. While PlayStation has yet to confirm this, they should be getting back to us in … well … seven hours. But that doesn't take away from the fact that PSN has a checkered history of being unreliable since the release of the PS4.
Reddit users also seem to confirm that the focus of these attacks are on the East Coast, but some as far as the midwest.
We'll have more as the story develops.
