Dishonored 2’s PC Problems Being Investigated By Arkane Studios

When Bethesda announced that there were delaying review copies for Dishonored 2, many speculated it was because the game was either not good or plagued by technical issues. While the jury is still out on the game's overall quality (our review is still in progress), developer Arkane Studios is officially looking into PC performance issues.

This, and many other response Tweets from Co-creative Director at Arkane Studios confirm that the developer is aware of these issues and is actively working to resolve them.

These PC issues have been reported across several different media, including Reddit and Steam. In fact, Dishonored 2's Steam rating is currently sitting firmly at "Mixed" with only 62 percent of its 1000+ reviews giving it a positive rating. Most of these negative reviews contain complaints about its PC performance.

On Reddit's PC Performance Megathread for Dishonored 2, many people who purport to meet or far exceed both the minimum and recommended requirements for the game are experiencing framerate drops – the most common complaint.

My experience has been mostly positive, however. While I have experienced a few infrequent framerate drops, I also don't meet the recommended requirements (I have a GTX 970, instead of a 1060, and I have a core i5 instead of a core i7). On medium-to-high quality settings, I'm able to run the game just fine with only minimal interruption.

I do wish the game would run better, but since I don't meet the recommended requirements, as the saying goes: them's the breaks.
