You Can Play The Elder Scrolls Online Free For the Next Week

You might have read our feature where we boasted The Elder Scrolls Online as the premier console MMO. We meant it, and encouraged everyone looking for a compelling online RPG to check the game out. The problem at the time was that many people didn't feel like putting down money to try out a new MMO, games that are extremely time consuming and have a high barrier of entry. There's a solution for that.

Bethesda has introduced an event which allows anyone to download and play The Elder Scrolls Online at no cost. Starting today, it will last until November 20th. The only catch is that only the PS4 and PC versions are supported this time around. Xbox One will get a free weekend at a later date, as confirmed by Bethesda.

The free weekend will allow you to download the full 73GB client and access everything in the game world except for DLC game pack areas. Your character will persist beyond your trial, allowing you to retain all progress.

It's highly encouraged that you either try the game out with another friend who is new, or join someone you know who already plays. The recent One Tamriel update added level scaling to the game providing an opportunity for low level players to play with veterans.
