Crytek, the developer best known for the Crysis series and the original Far Cry has broken its silence and announced today major closures of all but two of its remaining studios.
Crytek had seven total studios, in Frankfurt, Kiev, Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey, South Korea and China. Only the studios in Kiev, Ukraine and Frankfurt, Germany will remain part of Crytek (Frankfurt being the studio's headquarters).
"Undergoing such transitions is far from easy," Cyrtek co-founder Avni Yerli said in a press release. "and we’d like to sincerely thank each and every staff member – past and present – for their hard work and commitment to Crytek. These changes are part of the essential steps we are taking to ensure Crytek is a healthy and sustainable business moving forward that can continue to attract and nurture our industry’s top talent."

Crytek recently made the news after rumors swirled that several of their employees weren't getting paid with any regularity.
