PS Vita UMD Passport Program Missing Support from Major Publishers

The PlayStation Vita launch in Japan is a little over two weeks away in Japan. To prepare for the influx of PSP owners coverting to the Vita, Sony has revealed a list of games included in their UMD Passport program – a whopping 262 games.

That's pretty good, right? It's better than what Sony offered for the PSPgo, that's for sure. But it's still missing support from major publishers like Capcom, Square Enix, and Namco Bandai. This means that games like Monster Hunter – the main reason to have a PSP in Japan – aren't part of the program.

Again, anything is better than nothing. Especially after the PSPgo disaster. But this is sure to disappoint some, though, I don't think this will deter potential purchases of Sony's new handheld.

The PlayStation Vita is releasing on December 17th in Japan. I'm quietly screaming like a school girl in excitement. Screaming because I'm importing a Vita and I can't fucking wait. I'm doing so quietly because the Japanese love school girls, and I'm not up for being tentacle-raped right now.
