UPDATED: March 29th Marks The Arrival of Mass Effect 2’s Final DLC?

Mass Effect 2 has one final piece of DLC coming to it. "The Arrival" was dug up by faithful Mass Effect fans and Bioware continues to tease everyone with screenshots. So far, three have been released. If you haven't seen them yet, take a look:

Now, moles in the retail sector are providing a release date for the DLC's Xbox Live debut. March 29th. As much as you and I may hope that the bridge between Mass Effect 2 and 3 is that close, you'll have to take this date with a grain of salt, or three.

The most obvious flaw with this information is that it's provided by someone in the retail sector. Why would the random shop employee have the inside track on DLC offerings? Granted, you can buy DLC from the counter of your local Gamestop, but it still doesn't make sense. The second grain is that the details only pertain to Xbox Live. A PS3 version exists. We don't have to lie to ourselves. It's nice that gamers everywhere get to enjoy Mass Effect 2. There could be a time exclusivity agreement hiding in the background but it still raises questions. The third grain of salt is that Bioware has remained so tight lipped about the final piece of DLC. The mystery might benefit from being drug out a little bit longer.

Thoughts?

[Updated] Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 will be bridged by The Arrival on March 29th. Look out for more information and a Game Revolution review soon.
